In 1909, the Strand Palace Hotel was born. Built as an Art Deco showpiece, the hotel soon became the place to be seen either as a guest, or at social gatherings. Some of the original architecture can still be seen today, and has featured in several movies and television period dramas. The hotel entrance’s ‘revolving doors’ now feature as part of an art deco exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
During the 2nd World War the Hotel was predominantly used by American armed forces before they went into action. Over the years many retired service personnel have returned to relive their memories, and today their families and relatives still visit the hotel.
In 2007, the Hotel began a multimillion pound refurbishment program following investment from our current owners, London and Regional (L&R) to restore it to its original splendor. Since then extensive internal works has been carried out on bedrooms, meetings & events, and catering outlets. Work still continues with a greater focus on the external building.
The Strand Palace Hotel is a large landmark hotel wonderfully located in the heart of London. The Hotel offers extensive catering facilities including restaurants, bars and our Meetings & Events space.
