“Learning how to learn is life’s most important skill” – Tony Buzan
This event is Europe’s leading showcase of learning technologies and sits alongside the Learning Technology conference, which hosts world-class presenters such as Tony Buzan and Professor Robert Winston.
Entry to the show is free and gives access to 250 exhibitors from software designers to coaching companies, training providers and accreditation agencies to interactive whiteboard manufacturers. All forms of learning – from the 70 per cent of professional learning, which is estimated to be done on-the-job, to the 20 per cent, which comes from learning from colleagues and managers, to the 10 per cent learned in formal training environments – are covered here. There are also 150 free seminars covering technologies from Moodle to Google. Broader subjects are also covered, including lessons on presenting from stand-up comics, the latest on game-based learning and the chance to hear from leading companies and organisations about their strategies and successes with learning technology. Those who will be presenting this year include Rolls-Royce, McDonalds, Carphone Warehouse and Transport for London.
“Leadership and learning are indispensable to one another” – John F Kennedy
During the show, attendees will have the opportunity (on each day, from midday to 1.15pm) to be part of a session for crowdsourcing solutions to common learning and technology challenges. These sessions provide the chance to turn data into knowledge and to benefit from the knowledge of other participants, who may be able to help you with your most pressing professional concerns.
Getting to the show
The show runs on Wednesday and Thursday from 9.30am to 5pm at Olympia, located in the fashionable Kensington area. Afterwards, there will be opportunities to continue networking at one of the huge range of bars and restaurants nearby. Or, why not use the opportunity to check out other London sights or to catch up with friends in the capital.
