National Curry Week returns to our tables from 10th – 16th October and what better place to celebrate than at our very own Indian restaurant, Daawat, just off the Strand on Burleigh Street.
Headed by Chef Asharaf Valappil, Daawat doesn’t compare to any other curry house in the capital. Influenced by traditional delicacies served in his hometown of Kerala in South Asia you’ll find unique dishes on the menu including the famed Grandma Kodi Kura a spicy chicken or lamb curry served with black peppercorn and shallots.
Asharaf is also the only London-based Chef to reach the final of Curry Life Magazine’s annual awards in October.
Revellers looking to try something different can indulge in Daawat’s unique ‘tiffin’ style afternoon tea, which features the Bombay burger – recently named one of the best burgers in the UK! The Indian inspired afternoon tea also features a selection of traditional desserts such as cashew rolls and a chocolate samosa served with mango coulis. Afternoon tea is served daily and priced at £29.95 per person.
With a variety of tempting treats available, Daawat guarantees to serve up a feast over National Curry Week.
Daawat will also launch its monthly Monday night Curry Club later in September. Curry Club members will be able to sample new dishes from Asharaf before they launch on the main menu and will also receive discounts at the restaurant on other days of the week.
Daawat is open daily from 12pm to 10pm Sunday to Tuesday and 12pm to 11pm Wednesday to Saturday.
