Strand Palace Hotel presents ‘Rock the Strand’.

Taking place on Thursday, 25 May, Rock the Strand is the perfect kick-start to the Bank Holiday weekend, with a stellar line-up of acts confirmed in what promises to be a celebration of music to remember.
The event is completely free to attend with revellers being treated to over three hours of live music, with three acts hitting the stage in the hotel’s Lounge Bar.
Curated by industry legend Tony Moore, Rock the Strand will showcase an eclectic range of genres from indie alt-folk to country from emerging new talent and established acts, highlighting the UK’s varied and diverse musical landscape.
Guests will also be treated to a special live performance from Lost Hollow, a renowned indie alt-folk band from Nashville, Tennessee, the undisputed home of live music.
Maverick Magazine’s David Knowles says that Lost Hollow is “one of the best kept secrets in folk music.” An indie, alt folk, Americana band from Nashville, Tennessee, Lost Hollow is one “of the best kept secrets in folk music.” The duo includes Tommy Harden, who has played drums on “Hard to Love” (Lee Brice), “Cowboys and Angels” (Dustin Lynch) and others. Singer Lor is the other half of the duo, whose voice has been described as both ‘rich as chocolate’ and ‘captivating’.
Joe Martin is a Country and Americana singer songwriter from the Ribble Valley, now based in Leeds. Since his interest in the genre of Americana and country music has developed, he has taken influence from more contemporary artists such as Jason Isbell, Kacey Musgraves, John Paul White and Brent Cobb. He started writing when he was fifteen and focused his efforts exclusively on country before moving to Leeds to study music. Over the three years living in Leeds, Joe supported country acts such as The Shires, Ward Thomas and performed at festivals such as Country to Country, The Great British Folk Festival and High and Lonesome Festival with his band.
Tony’s long and eclectic career in the music business began after he left Bristol, to move to London and become an original member of Iron Maiden. Throughout this time, he worked with the likes of Tanz Der Youth and Radio Java before becoming the becoming keyboard player in Cutting Crew – I Just Died In Your Arms.
For 2017 Tony is continuing to work and tour with ILONA as well as release new original material.
