Located in the heart of London for over 40 years
Since the curtain went up on Joe Allen in 1977, the restaurant has been known as the West End’s Canteen – in the heart of London’s theatreland, it has welcomed actors and audiences alike for over 40 years. Its red brick walls are hung with stage show posters from throughout the ages, and guests are greeted by a live pianist tinkling the ivories every night of the week.
A New York-style brasserie, Joe Allen throws open the doors at 8am every weekday for a classic American breakfast, dishing up blueberry pancakes with whipped sweet butter and maple syrup, and Eggs Royale – poached, free-range Cornish eggs with smoked salmon on an English muffin, with a generous pour of hollandaise. At the weekend, book a table between 12noon and 4 pm for Joe Allen’s famous piano brunch, with Lee, Esther and Zino playing live show tunes.
Head to Joe Allen for a pre-theatre dinner, or stop by for post-theatre dining after the show – Joe Allen is the go-to place when the curtain comes down.
Joe Allen is located on the ground floor of the hotel, on the corner of Burleigh Street. You can access the restaurant through the hotel lobby near the porter’s desk.
