Mission Statement 
 
The Strand Palace Hotel recognises the need for responsible energy management and is committed to improving energy efficiency and protecting the environment. Working at all levels of the business, from employees to guests, we will endeavour to minimise the impact our operations have on the environment.

Objectives

• We aim to fully comply with the law and legal legislation and regulations and to take a proactive approach to future legal requirements or obligations.
• To reduce the emissions of green house gases and conserve natural resources, whilst maintaining the comfort and safety of our guests and staff.
• To educate and train all members of staff in environmental issues and in good working practices in order to create an energy efficient and environmentally aware working culture.
• To reduce landfill and increase the recycling ethos of social, environmental and economical policies.
• To achieve a 3% decrease in energy consumption year on year. 

Key Procedures

Key procedures in delivery of this policy include:  

• To implement a running Green Party, ensuring that we are constantly putting environmental and energy saving issues at the forefront of our business strategies, and to monitor our progress in each of the key areas. 
• To control usage of energy in each area of the hotel consistent with its pattern of use in order to increase awareness of energy issues among staff and encourage ‘energy responsible’ attitudes.
• To actively promote environmental awareness within the hotel and to clients via regular updates and the Strand Palace website, in accordance with the company’s policies.
• To ensure all staff are made fully aware of the Hotel’s environmental policy, and to gain their commitment in our efforts to make the Strand Palace a more socially responsible business.
• To develop and increase responsible purchasing methods to include sourcing products, such as locally produced goods and using suppliers that maintain ethical practices.
