The end of a multi-million pound refurbishment
Our recent refurbishment was a unique opportunity for us to choose more sustainable furniture and appliances to make Strand Palace a more environmentally friendly place.
Having completed the hotel refurbishment in May 2020, the entire hotel including all 785 guestrooms, public areas and our new restaurant and bar have been transformed into a modern art deco-inspired interior hub in the heart of London. In addition to our new restaurant and bar, Haxells, we have introduced our new afternoon tea and private dining rooms, perfect for extra special moments.
An opportunity to become more sustainable
The refurbishment was a unique opportunity to capitalise on becoming more sustainable for the years to come, including replacing old appliances and furnishings with more environmentally friendly and energy-efficient solutions.
We’re proud to share with you some of our key sustainable changes:
- Our new carpets throughout the hotel contain over 84,500 recycled plastic bottles, preventing them from going to landfill
- All guest rooms now have shower cubicles rather than bath tubs (with the exception of our accessible rooms)
- LED lighting has been fitted throughout the hotel
- Our new air conditioning and heating system reduces consumption in unoccupied rooms.
